Theme Scripture & Awana's Goal

The theme scripture verse, which is also the meaning of Awana can be found on 2 Timonthy 2:15:

15Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

The Goal of Awana at RGAC is to serve of the boys and girls of the lower-mainland. How so? Each week, the Awana program is full of action-packed team-games. Moreover, there's a story-time of a special message. Finally, there is a small group council time, when each child gets attention from a mentor or councillor.

Kids love the games time, because ...well...its fun! Good team spirit, punctuality, passing of tests, memorization of verses, and an healthy attitude are all awarded by a point-system. Kids are thrilled by winning. They are also awarded positively with compliments from peers and leaders, with great gifts from our Awana store (operated by our own team of pre-teens who used to be Awana kids too!).

MISSIONSFEST 2008 & Awana returns for Feb 1st

About 35 Awana kids, parents, and leaders attended the MissonsFestival 2008 at Canada Place, Vacouver on Jan 25th. It was benefical for everybody.

Kids went to the children's program where they learned about missions, Christian workers, in Japan. They also made some origami!

Leaders learned a lot from Harvey, B.C.'s Awana Missionary.

One of the kids who attended told me she's interested in becoming a missionary in Mexico.

One of my favourite memories for this year's missions festival is that everyone sang the Awana theme song on the bus!

There will be AWANA meeting as usual this Friday on the 1st day of February.

New comers are always welcome.

belated pictures, bottle drive, festival of lights

Hi!

Awana at RGAC is being blessed by God during the last 4 months. The Awana team and kids are looking forward to more exciting games, trips, and theme-lights in 2008.

In November, we had a HANDICAPPED theme night to remember war-veterans and to experience life handicapped. Pictures are available on:

We finished our bottle drive. LOTS OF THANKS to MANDY and CLARA, our Leaders-In-Training who counted all the bottles. We got $33 dollars in refund for the bottles and cans that were collected by our Awana kids.

On December 14th, we visited the Van Dusen Festival of Lights. We had about 60 participants on this field trip. Parents, kids, and leaders enjoyed the colourful lights, especially the ginger-bread woods!

Please continue to pray for Awana RGAC and our children ministry. WE need our prayers. We need God to watch for us.

In January, we hope to take the kids to Missions Festival 2008! May God plant a seed within the kids' heart to be God's hands and feet in spreading His Great Word.
